‘Sons of Anarchy’ tough guy to guest on ‘Alcatraz’

Look out for Theo guest starring on the new hit series Alcatraz:

Actor Theo Rossi, who plays extravagantly tatted SAMCRO tech specialist Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz on the FX hit, will guest-star on the tenth episode of Fox’s Alcatraz. Theo Rossi plays Sonny, a business man with a dark side, who became ultra-violent during his stint 50 years ago at the infamous prison.

Alcatraz is off to a promising start: Its two-hour debut on Monday was seen by 10 million viewers and had a 3.3 adult demo rating. Here’s Sandra Gonzalez’s interview with executive producer Jack Bender about what the show has in store for us this season (aside from a menacing Rossi).

‘Sons of Anarchy’ exec promises Juice reveal

Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has promised that SAMCRO will learn the truth about Juice (Theo Rossi).

The simple-minded biker betrayed his gang and killed Miles (Frank Potter) in the FX drama’s recent fourth season.

“One of the things we try to do on the show is not let anything… happen in a vacuum,” Sutter told TVLine. “Ultimately, these secrets always do come back.”

The showrunner confirmed that the truth about Miles’s death will come out “at some point” in the future.

“The truth is, Juice did kill Miles and he did ultimately rat on the club,” he said. “And even though it’s buried for now, there are people out there that are aware that he’s done it. So, yeah, I’m sure we will probably find the right story… to bring that back in play.”

Sons of Anarchy was picked up for a fifth, 13-episode season in mid-October after attracting record ratings for FX.

The Squeeze is on Juice

Season 4 of “Sons of Anarchy” will shock you in the lengths SAMCRO member “Juan Carlos ‘Juice’ Ortiz” (Theo Rossi) goes to keep in good stead with the MC that apparently has a race clause in the charter fine print.

How and what he does is classified until air date, but suffice to say, Rockmond Dunbar’s steely gazed character Sheriff Roosevelt has pushed our normally happy-go-lucky Juice to the edges of sanity.

It will break your heart.

Theo spoke to journalists about this gut wrenching series of events coming in episodes five and six, where we witness desperation turn to damnation.

Rossi says of season four, “It’s about to get real murky. Very murky, very crazy. It always is, but it’s really about to go to a whole different level starting next week.”

Oh yeah.

Monsters and Critics would have normally been on this call except we were in the air flying to our high school reunion while it went down. So #FAIL for me, but FX kindly sent the transcript and my dear friends made the call, so here is the credited Q&A:

Media Blvd.: It’s so great to see “Juice” getting some more screen time here.

T. Rossi I’ve been so lucky. Kurt has eleven series regulars to deal with. I’ve been really blessed and lucky with this character, with “Juice,” because, through the first three seasons, I’d really gotten to do some pretty memorable stuff. Some really great memorable scenes that the fans seem to have loved and it’s really shown this guy as the soldier that he is and what an enormous and integral part of the club he is even though we haven’t really gone into his back story and really put him as the focus.

So to now bring up this issue and to exploit on this story line, it’s just the right time and I couldn’t be happier and I just—when Kurt told me what was going to go down before the season and how it was going to go, it’s just great. Anytime Kurt writes anything for me, I’m more than pleased because I just think he is by far—and I think it just shows in the ratings and the fans reactions and everything. There is no writer, there’s no show running that delivers like Kurt’s. It’s just great. I’m excited for him.

Meet Theo and the Sons of Anarchy Crew!

The Boot Campaign is inviting motorcycle aficionados throughout Southern California to pair some combat boots with their leathers and join the Sons of Anarchy cast for a scenic ride around the Hollywood Hills. The Boot Ride, which supports U.S. veterans and directly benefits Activision Blizzards Call of Duty Endowment, will kick off on Sunday, August 28 at the Happy Ending Bar & Restaurant. The Call of Duty Endowment is a non-profit public organization which helps soldiers transition to civilian careers after their military service.

The event represents the first-ever Los Angeles fundraiser organized by Texas-based Boot Campaign, a nationwide initiative which aims to show appreciation for active military and raise awareness of the needs of military members and veterans returning home. With campaign motto “When They Come Back, We Give Back,” Boot Campaign is both an awareness driver and fundraising effort that Sons of Anarchy cast members Kim Coates, Theo Rossi and Dayton Callie proudly endorse.

For full details visit the official Boot Campaign website. Read more about their mission and show your support!

Robert Gallery: Well-spoken Son of Anarchy

When one first encounters former Oakland Raiders and new Seattle Seahawks left guard Robert Gallery, it wouldn’t surprise to learn that this 6-foot-7, 325-pound dude with a long, bushy beard and long hair picked up an affinity for bikes and biker culture during his seven-year stint with the Raiders. And once certain members of the FX show “Sons of Anarchy” discovered that the Raiders were big fans of the show that comes off like a cross between “Easy Rider” and “The Sopranos,” the two groups started to interface.

I found this out when I did a Shutdown Corner podcast last September with Theo Rossi, who played some safety in college and had become friends with Gallery.

“I just got off the phone with Robert Gallery a little while ago,” Rossi told me. “I mean, I love the Raiders … Gallery actually came down and did an extra role on the show. He’s actually in a scene with me in the Samcro [the short name of the club on the show] cut. That was pretty major to me. First, he’s enormous. Second, he’s just the nicest guy in the world.
